Role Details

- Pay Rate: Β£28βΒ£30 per hour LTD (Dependent on Experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert assessments and written reports to criminal courts, the Parole Board, and partner agencies
- Manage medium to high-risk offender caseloads
- Represent the NPS at professional forums, including MAPPA and MARAC
- Support and guide Probation Services Officers (PSOs) and wider staff
- Conduct visits to prisons, homes, or alternative locations as required
- Assess and respond to risk escalation requests from Community Rehabilitation Companies
- Deliver and co-lead accredited offending behaviour programmes
- Fulfil statutory safeguarding duties in line with NPS policies
- Demonstrate pro-social modelling and address anti-social behaviours
β Essential Requirements
- Probation Qualification Framework (PQF) degree or equivalent Probation Studies qualification (Essential)
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment and risk management in a probation context
- Understanding of the Criminal Justice System and the role of the Probation Service
- Knowledge of factors influencing offending (e.g. substance misuse, housing instability)
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Competency in case management principles and victim awareness
