Job Description
Service Care Solutions are working alongside a Local Authority in Bradford who are looking to recruit an experienced Principal Accountant to join their team on a temporary contract. Please find a description of the role below.
Role: Principal Accountant.
Location: Bradford
Rate: £24.08 to £27.82 per hour (PAYE exc.) / £26.98 to £31.28 per hour (Umbrella/LTD)
Contract: 3 months on going.
Working: Hybrid (2/3 per week in office)
Role Overview:
- MUST have local authority accountancy experience
- Assist in revenue monitoring and prepare financial reports for Directors and senior teams.
- Deliver accurate, relevant, and timely financial information to support business needs.
- Apply professional judgement to recommend business solutions that promote best value and manage risk.
- Develop and improve financial service delivery aligned to business needs.
- Promote strong financial governance and contribute to the wider Finance Business Partnering team.
- Work collaboratively with non-financial staff to build financial understanding and capability.
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA)
- Proven experience in financial management and business partnering
- Strong understanding of local government finance and public sector regulations.
- Skilled in analysing and presenting complex financial data.
- Experience preparing or analysing year-end accounts.
- Proficient in Excel and financial systems; able to build and manipulate spreadsheet models.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience managing or supporting people.
