Job Description

Personal Support AssistantSalary: £15.66 per hourLocation: West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 6BJClient: Nottinghamshire County CouncilContract Type: Temporary (6 months)Hours: 23 hours per week (Monday – Wednesday)About the Role: This is an exciting and rewarding post providing administrative and practical support to a visually impaired Social Worker within Nottinghamshire County Council. The role involves a wide variety of administrative and organisational duties to ensure the Social Worker is supported effectively in their role.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide diary management and arrange meetings.
  • Take accurate notes and minutes as required.
  • Read aloud relevant correspondence and documents.
  • Support with manual and electronic form completion.
  • Input and collate data and maintain accurate records.
  • Deliver high-quality administrative support while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with GDPR.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Proven experience in administration roles.
  • Strong knowledge and practical use of IT systems including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Understanding of Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety in the workplace.
  • Experience of managing workloads, prioritising tasks, and working to deadlines.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Numeracy skills and ability to handle data effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Qualifications

  • No specific qualifications required, though evidence of IT proficiency and administrative training would be advantageous.

Other Requirements

  • Commitment to delivering a high standard of support.
  • Respect for confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • The Social Worker supported by this role has a guide dog present in the workplace.
  • The post is funded by the Employment Service under the Access to Work Scheme, with funding currently due for review in September 2025. Subject to successful review, funding will be extended for a further 3 years.
  • The Personal Support Assistant post will remain in place while the Social Worker is in post.
