Service Care Legal are recruiting on behalf of an established legal practice in East London looking to recruit a newly qualified solicitor to join its Criminal Law department. The role involves representing clients at police stations and magistrates’ courts throughout London, particularly in the East and South areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising and attending clients in police custody and magistrates’ court hearings
- Preparing criminal cases for both magistrates’ and crown court trials
- Managing a busy and varied caseload under supervision
- Participating in out-of-hours duty rota work
- Ensuring professional and sensitive support for vulnerable clients
Skills and Experience
- A qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate between 0-1 years’ PQE
- Experience as a trainee or paralegal within a criminal department would be essential for this position
