Residential Support Worker - Children's Residential Home (Nottinghamshire)
Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Residential Support Worker to join a children's residential home based in Nottinghamshire on a permanent basis.
Location: Nottinghamshire
Salary: £28,500 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Shift Pattern: 2 Days On / 4 Days Off
- Day 1: 8:00am to 11:00pm, followed by a sleep-in
- Day 2: 8:00am to 11:00pm, followed by a sleep-in
- Day 3: Finish at approximately 8:30am
- Then enjoy 4 consecutive days off
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people living in a residential care setting. You will provide safe, nurturing, and child-focused support, helping young people develop confidence, resilience, and independence within a therapeutic home environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, consistent, and child-centred care to children and young people.
- Support the emotional, physical, and psychological wellbeing of young people.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times.
- Build positive relationships and act as a positive role model.
- Support young people with education, training, employment, and life skills development.
- Assist in the implementation and review of care plans.
- Encourage participation in recreational, educational, and social activities.
- Work collaboratively with families, social workers, schools, and external professionals.
- Complete accurate records and reports using electronic systems.
- Undertake household duties including cooking, cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a homely environment.
- Administer medication in line with organisational policies and training.
Requirements
- Experience working with children and young people.
- Previous experience in a children's residential setting.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work towards a relevant qualification in Children and Young People's Services.
