We're recruiting a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join a community-based charity supporting adults affected by drug and alcohol use.
Contract: 3-6 months ongoing
Working: 30 hours per week
Rate: £17 per hour (umbrella)
Location: Norwich
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out physical health checks and screenings
- Support blood testing, ECGs, vaccinations, and toxicology testing (training provided where required)
- Deliver harm reduction advice, including needle exchange and naloxone support
- Assist with community alcohol and opioid detox programmes
- Promote health, wellbeing, and recovery through one-to-one support
- Work closely with nurses and partner agencies to deliver person-centred care
Experience:
- Experience as a Healthcare Assistant or within a health, social care, or substance misuse setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A compassionate, non-judgemental approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Care Certificate or relevant healthcare qualification is desirable but not essential
