Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a well-established provider supporting children and young people within two Ofsted-rated Good children's homes in Newark-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional looking to progress their career within a supportive and rewarding environment.

About the Role

You will be responsible for overseeing shifts and supporting Residential Support Workers while providing stability, guidance, and high-quality care to children and young people. The homes accommodate a small number of young people, allowing staff to build strong relationships and deliver person-centred support that promotes positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising shifts and supporting Residential Support Workers
  • Acting as a positive role model for young people
  • Supporting children and young people to develop life skills and independence
  • Encouraging engagement with education, personal development, and activities
  • Monitoring and managing behaviours positively and proactively
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Creating and delivering engaging activities
  • Supporting staff development and performance
  • Working in line with safeguarding, regulatory, and legislative requirements

Shift Pattern

  • Double sleep-in shifts
  • 7:30am – 10:30pm followed by a sleep‑in
  • 3-week rolling rota
  • One Saturday worked, one Sunday worked, and one weekend off within the rota cycle

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 12 months' experience in residential childcare
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to lead shifts and support staff effectively
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and children's residential care standards
  • Applicants must be aged 21 or over
