Location: Reading and North Counties

Salary: £27,248 per annum

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm (35 hours per week)

About the Role

Service Care Solutions are looking for a reliable and proactive Mobile Caretaker to join our client’s Estate Maintenance team on a Permanent basis covering the Reading and surrounding counties. As a Mobile Caretaker, you will play a key part of keeping our clients estates clean, safe, and welcoming. You will travel across multiple sites, ensuring communal areas are well maintained, repairs and hazards are reported promptly, and residents can take pride in where they live. A company van will be provided, allowing you to make a visible difference across the communities you support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide cover for caretaking and gardening colleagues across the estate portfolio.
  • Keep communal areas clean, tidy, and free from graffiti.
  • Report repairs, vandalism, and safety hazards in a timely manner.
  • Attend estate walkabouts and assist with tackling anti-social behaviour.
  • Maintain refuse systems and complete scheduled cleaning tasks.
  • Perform regular safety checks, including emergency lighting and fire alarm testing.
  • Work closely with the Estate Services Area Manager to ensure smooth estate operations.

Requirements

  • A full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your workload efficiently.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on duties.
  • Flexible, proactive, and a reliable team player.
  • Willingness to undergo a Basic DBS check.

Additional Information

This is a mobile role, so flexibility is key. The position is based in Reading, but travel across the Borough and surrounding counties will be required. A company van will be provided for work purposes.
