Our client, a well-established Local Authority in Aberdeen, is currently seeking an experienced Mechanic to support the maintenance of their fleet on a temporary agency basis. This role involves carrying out servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance across a range of LGV, HGV, and plant vehicles, ensuring the fleet remains safe, compliant, and operational. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy public sector workshop environment with a varied and interesting fleet.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out servicing, repairs, and maintenance on LGV, HGV, and plant vehicles
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate tools and equipment
- Completing preventative maintenance and safety inspections
- Ensuring all vehicles and machinery meet safety and compliance standards
- Maintaining accurate service and repair records
- Working as part of a workshop team to ensure fleet availability
- Following all health and safety procedures and workshop regulations
This is a fantastic opportunity to secure full time hours Monday to Friday. You will be working a standard 37 hour week with an immediate start available. The hourly pay rate for this role is £19.58 (PAYE inc.)
Requirements / Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Proven experience working on LGV, HGV, or plant equipment
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Knowledge of safety and compliance standards for commercial vehicles
- Full UK Driving Licence
