Locum General Practitioner (Newly Qualified) – ARRS Funded. Supporting Wigan PCNs. Location: Wigan. Contract: Immediate start – March 2026. Systems: EMIS Web. Pay: £75 LTD p.h (Paid via Direct Engagement). Hours: 4‑8 sessions per week | 9am‑5:30pm (30 min unpaid lunch).
We are recruiting a Newly Qualified GP (within 2 years of CCT) to support PCNs across Wigan on a long‑term, ARRS‑funded locum contract. This is an excellent opportunity to gain varied clinical experience while working within a supportive, collaborative PCN environment.
Role Overview
You will provide high‑quality primary care services across Wigan PCNs, delivering duties in line with GP NHS Standards. The role offers exposure to multiple practices, strong MDT support, and the stability of a contract running until March 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver face‑to‑face and telephone consultations.
- Manage acute, chronic, and complex presentations.
- Prescribe safely in line with BNF, NICE, and local guidance.
- Request, interpret, and action investigations and results.
- Maintain accurate clinical records using EMIS.
- Make timely referrals to secondary and community services.
- Work collaboratively with the PCN MDT and Federation teams.

- Newly Qualified GP (within 2 years of CCT).
