Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Childcare Legal Officer to join a Local Authority in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal professional with a strong background in Childcare Law to support Solicitors and Social Care teams in managing care proceedings and ensuring matters are progressed efficiently within statutory timescales.
Location: Manchester
Contract: Full Time, Hybrid Working
Umbrella Rate: £30 - £35 per hour
PAYE (Inc.Hol): £26.75 - £31.10 per hour
Key Responsibilities as a Childcare Legal Officer:
- Manage a caseload of childcare legal matters under supervision, including care proceedings and pre-proceedings work.
- Prepare and draft legal documents including Court applications, statements, bundles, notices, and correspondence.
- Support Solicitors and Children’s Services teams with Public Law Outline (PLO) matters and Court proceedings.
- Liaise with Social Workers, Barristers, Courts, Guardians, and external agencies to ensure timely progression of cases.
