Contract type: Full time - Initially 3 months with potential to extend

Salary: £28.50 UMB per hour (£21-£22 PAYE)

Working on behalf of Haringey Council, we are seeking a committed Social Work Officer to join their Adults Social Care service, supporting residents and carers through assessment, review, and support planning. You will work within a strengths-based model, helping people build resilience, maximise independence, and improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Completing strengths-based assessments, reviews, and support plans
  • Supporting adults and carers to maximise independence and wellbeing
  • Arranging short-term support and respite services
  • Providing advice and guidance on welfare benefits and living aids
  • Reviewing care packages and monitoring outcomes
  • Working closely with health and social care partners
  • Contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings
  • Attending safeguarding strategy meetings where required
  • Maintaining accurate case notes, records, and reports
  • Supporting social workers with information gathering and case preparation
  • Completing Continuing Healthcare (CHC) checklists where appropriate

About You

  • We’re looking for someone who brings compassion, practical problem-solving skills, and strong professional values.
  • Experience or exposure in Adult Social Care (paid, voluntary, or lived experience)
  • Understanding of strengths-based and person-centred practice
  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults and/or carers
  • Ability to contribute to assessments and support planning
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with multiple agencies or partners
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Awareness of safeguarding and equality principles
  • Confidence using IT and case recording systems

Desirable

  • Health & Social Care qualification (Level 3–5 or equivalent)
  • Experience in a local authority or community setting
  • Experience contributing to care reviews or MDT work
  • Knowledge of adult social care processes and ethics
