Service Care Solutions are currently working alongside a reputable West London Borough Council who are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to join their legal team on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal professional with strong public sector contracts and procurement experience to join a busy and supportive local authority legal team, handling a varied and high-level caseload.
LOCATION: West London
RATE: £65.00ph Umbrella / £57.16ph PAYE (inc. holiday pay) / £51.00ph PAYE (exc. holiday pay)
CONTRACT: Initial 3-month contract, 36 hours per week. Please note, this role requires office attendance 1 day per week.
Key Responsibilities as a Contracts and Procurement Solicitor:
- Provide senior-level legal advice on a wide range of contracts, procurement, and governance matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements and contractual documentation.
- Advise on procurement processes, including matters relating to the Procurement Act 2023.
- Manage contentious procurement matters, including disputes involving the Technology and Construction Court.
- Deliver high-quality legal services, including drafting reports, providing training, and supporting internal stakeholders.
- Lead on complex and high-profile matters while supporting senior management within the legal team.
- Instruct and oversee external solicitors and counsel where required.
- Provide supervision and support to junior team members when necessary.
