Service Care Legal are working alongside a legal-aid firm who are seeking a Criminal Solicitor to join their team. Please find below further details with regards to this position.
ROLE: Criminal Solicitor
LOCATION: South East London
SALARY: £35,000 to £50,000 DOE / PQE / interview performance
Job Role
- Conducting criminal defence casework including police station attendances and Magistrates’ and Crown Court representations
- Supervising and mentoring fee earners or caseworkers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality legal work
- Ensuring all files and client matters meet Legal Aid Agency, contractual and procedural requirements
- Maintaining supervision and training records while supporting continuous professional development within the team
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor with a current, non-conditional practising certificate held for the last 3 years and CLAS accreditation
- Duty Solicitor accredited, or actively working towards duty accreditation
- Highly organised with excellent communication skills, sound professional judgement and a strong commitment to high standards of criminal defence practice
