Warwickshire County Council are seeking experienced and dedicated Locum Children's Social Workers to join the Child Protection and Safeguarding Teams. They are committed to delivering high-quality services that put children, young people and families at the heart of everything they do and require a locum to help the team at this critical time of young people going back to school.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children subject to child protection plans, children in need and those who are looked after.
  • Undertake assessments and statutory visits in line with national and local safeguarding procedures.
  • Develop and implement robust care plans in partnership with children, families and multi‑agency professionals.
  • Prepare high‑quality reports and present evidence in court proceedings where required.
  • Contribute to child protection conferences, looked‑after reviews and core group meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, agencies and families to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Experienced in child protection, safeguarding and care proceedings.
  • Skilled at building strong respectful relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
  • Confident in completing assessments, managing risk and making evidence‑based decisions.
  • Organised, resilient and able to manage a demanding caseload effectively.
