A respected Housing Association in Leyland is looking to recruit an experienced Tenancy Sustainment Officer to support vulnerable tenants and help sustain successful tenancies through proactive support, tenancy interventions, and partnership working with external agencies.
THE ROLE
The Tenancy Sustainment Officer will deliver high-quality tenancy support services to new and existing tenants, helping customers maintain stable and sustainable tenancies while promoting independence and preventing tenancy breakdown.
Key duties of the role include:
- Completing pre-tenancy affordability and sustainability assessments
- Managing a caseload of tenants requiring tenancy sustainment support
- Developing, monitoring, and reviewing tailored support plans
- Supporting vulnerable tenants with complex needs through one-to-one, telephone, and crisis support
- Working closely with internal departments and external agencies including DWP, social services, and voluntary organisations
- Identifying safeguarding concerns and escalating issues appropriately
- Assisting tenants with welfare benefit claims, budgeting, and income maximisation
- Promoting arrears prevention and supporting tenancy sustainment initiatives
- Maintaining accurate case records and monitoring support outcomes
- Encouraging customer engagement and reducing tenancy failures and abandonments
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have previous experience working within a tenancy sustainment, housing support, homelessness, or tenancy management setting, supporting vulnerable individuals and customers with complex needs.
The ideal candidate will also have:
- Experience working within social housing, supported housing, or tenancy support services
- Knowledge of welfare benefits, income maximisation, and financial inclusion support
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and risk assessment processes
- Experience working in partnership with statutory and voluntary sector agencies
- Strong communication, organisation, and case management skills
- The ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload effectively
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use
THE CONTRACT
Working Hours: Full Time – 37 Hours per Week
Length of Contract: 3 Month Contract
Rate: The pay for the role is £19.62 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £16.73 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
