Overview

Environmental Health Officer - Kingston β€” Β£30 PAYE / Β£39 Umbrella (Inside IR35)

β€’ 37 hours per week

β€’ 6 months contract

Responsibilities

  • Investigate housing standards complaints, public health issues, noise and environmental nuisance.
  • Undertake HMO licensing inspections, including additional licensing schemes.
  • Work with partners to address poor housing conditions, fire safety concerns, anti-social behaviour, and fuel poverty.
  • Carry out Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) inspections.
  • Apply provisions of the Housing Act 2004 and Environmental Protection Act 1990 when investigating service requests.

Requirements

  • Qualified Environmental Health Officer, or equivalent qualification to carry out HHSRS inspections.
  • Experience investigating housing standards or environmental health service requests under relevant legislation.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and partner organisations.
