Children's Social Worker - Child Protection and Safeguarding
Warwickshire County Council Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Children's Social Worker to work for our client within Warwickshire Local Authority. This is a temporary ongoing contract, initially for 3 months, with hybrid working available.
Working Arrangement
- Hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office, 2 days per week working from home
Pay Rates
- £37.00 per hour Umbrella
- £32.53 per hour PAYE inclusive
- £29.03 per hour PAYE exclusive
Job Specification
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake statutory social work duties in line with the Children Act 1989 and 2004
- Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need plans, and care proceedings
- Complete statutory assessments, interventions, and reviews to promote positive outcomes for children
- Carry out clear, analytical assessments of risk and need
- Prepare high quality reports for court, child protection conferences, and reviews
- Work collaboratively with families, partner agencies, and professionals to safeguard children
- Attend and contribute to core groups, strategy meetings, reviews, and court proceedings
- Maintain accurate, timely case records in line with local authority and statutory requirements
Requirements
- Social Work qualification Degree, DipSW or equivalent
- Social Work England registration
- Recent experience working within Child Protection and Safeguarding teams
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and thresholds
- Excellent assessment, communication, and report writing skills
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
