Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an Experienced Social Worker to join our Young Person’s Team, working specifically with young people aged 16–18 years. The team is responsible for managing cases of young people who are looked after by the local authority, subject to full care orders, or involved in care proceedings. This role is ideal for a confident practitioner with strong statutory experience who is passionate about supporting young people as they prepare for adulthood.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex caseload of young people aged 16–18
  • Undertake statutory responsibilities for young people who are looked after, subject to care orders, or in care proceedings
  • Complete high-quality assessments, care plans, pathway plans, and reports
  • Work closely with partner agencies to ensure young people’s safety, wellbeing, and stability
  • Support young people to prepare for independence and transition into adult services
  • Attend and contribute to court proceedings, reviews, and multi-agency meetings
  • Maintain accurate and timely case recording in line with legislative and local authority requirements
