About the Role
Are you an influential People Partner who thrives on building strong relationships, challenging leaders, and driving operational excellence? We are seeking a proactive People Business Partner to support our designated business units. Operating in a fast‑paced environment, you will work closely with senior leadership teams to provide expert HR advice, insight, and constructive challenge that strengthens management capability across the entire colleague lifecycle. This is a 6‑month temp‑to‑perm opportunity designed for a candidate who can hit the ground running. While our modern hub is located in Manchester City Centre, we offer a flexible working arrangement where your time in the office will be determined dynamically according to ongoing business needs.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- ER Casework Management: Provide managers with robust case management advice (disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance, and attendance), ensuring best practice and risk mitigation.
- Strategic Partnering: Develop and implement tailored functional People Plans aligned with corporate frameworks and organisational values.
- Change Management: Advise and guide line managers on transformational change initiatives, restructuring, and workforce capability design.
- Data‑Driven Insights: Utilise management information, exit surveys, and engagement feedback to identify workplace trends and propose measurable action plans to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Training & Coaching: Deliver specific HR interventions and provide regular coaching to managers at all levels to maximise their leadership confidence.
- Policy & Projects: Monitor, review, and update people policies in line with employment legislation changes while leading cross‑organisational People & Culture projects.
Critical Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
- Qualifications: Chartered CIPD status or equivalent professional experience is highly preferred.
- Employee Relations Mastery: A substantial, proven track record of directly managing complex ER casework and guiding line managers through challenging scenarios.
- Sector Flexibility: Experience outside of the housing sector is fully welcomed. We strongly value diverse perspectives from local government, civil service, the third/voluntary sector, or commercial/private environments.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence, challenge, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
- Operational Agility: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort adapting to changing on‑site business schedules.
