We are currently recruiting for a Housing Support Worker to join a leading national charity in Nottingham, helping service users move towards independence through tailored support and housing management.
THE ROLE
This role involves delivering housing-related support to vulnerable individuals across 34 properties, managing a caseload of 10+ service users. Key responsibilities include:
- Creating person-centred Support and Safety Plans and delivering at least 2 hours of support weekly to each service user
- Maintaining accurate and timely records on the Resident Record Database
- Supporting service users with practical life skills and domestic tasks
- Conducting weekly property inspections and reporting maintenance issues
- Developing move-on plans and supporting service users to secure independent accommodation
- Liaising with Probation Services to deliver joined-up support
- Maximising rent collection and assisting with benefit applications
THE CANDIDATE
We are looking for an experienced Housing Support Worker with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role, ideally within a supported housing or homelessness service. The ideal candidate will also have:
- Experience working with vulnerable or complex needs individuals
- Strong understanding of housing management and support planning
- Ability to work independently, including lone working and home-based tasks
- A proactive approach to tenancy sustainment and rent arrears prevention
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
THE CONTRACT
This is a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension. 37 hours per week (40 working hours including 5 hours unpaid lunch). Shifts will include both early (8am-4pm) and late (2pm-10pm) patterns. Occasional Saturday working with time off in lieu during the week. Must be willing to undergo Enhanced DBS. The pay for the role is £17.43 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £14.86 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
