We are seeking a passionate, motivated and highly skilled Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist to join a growing multidisciplinary team supporting children and young people across mainstream school settings in the Hillingdon, Uxbridge and Isleworth areas.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing inclusive educational environments, supporting school staff and helping children overcome barriers to learning and participation.

You will work collaboratively with education professionals, families and other specialists to deliver targeted interventions, develop staff confidence and ensure children receive the right support to thrive.

The Role

As a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping inclusive practice across mainstream schools. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Empowering teachers and other key adults to support pupils in achieving their therapeutic goals.
  • Promoting inclusive practice through a graduated approach that aligns with the SEND Code of Practice.

You will have the opportunity to influence whole-school approaches to inclusion while helping education professionals develop the skills and confidence to meet the diverse needs of their pupils.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with additional needs.

You will be confident working within educational settings, have excellent communication skills and be able to build effective relationships with a range of professionals.

  • A BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Specialist-level experience working with children and young people with additional needs in a relevant setting.
  • Significant experience providing professional and clinical supervision.
  • Strong experience developing and delivering training.
  • Implementing universal strategies and targeted interventions within educational environments.
  • Supporting children and young people who present with complex behaviours.
  • Completing assessments and contributing to Education, Health and Care Plans.
  • Relevant specialist training and continuing professional development.
  • Working in a trauma-informed environment.
  • Supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
