A public sector client in Tyne and Wear is recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer (Technical) to join the team on a full-time, temporary basis with the aim of ongoing employment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a local authority health and safety environment.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out site inspections across council premises and facilities.
  • Recording inspection outcomes using the SafetyCulture app.
  • Assisting the Health and Safety Team with compliance monitoring and reporting.
  • Supporting colleagues in promoting safe working practices and ensuring standards are met.

Qualifications

  • A recognised health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience of undertaking workplace/site inspections within a public sector or similar environment.

Beneficial Skills

  • Strong IT literacy, including use of mobile inspection apps or databases.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

Offer

The client is offering £20 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £15–£16 per hour PAYE).
