A public sector client in Tyne and Wear is recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer (Technical) to join the team on a full-time, temporary basis with the aim of ongoing employment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a local authority health and safety environment.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out site inspections across council premises and facilities.
- Recording inspection outcomes using the SafetyCulture app.
- Assisting the Health and Safety Team with compliance monitoring and reporting.
- Supporting colleagues in promoting safe working practices and ensuring standards are met.
Qualifications
- A recognised health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
- Experience of undertaking workplace/site inspections within a public sector or similar environment.
Beneficial Skills
- Strong IT literacy, including use of mobile inspection apps or databases.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Offer
The client is offering £20 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £15–£16 per hour PAYE).
