Our client, a forward-thinking London Borough Council, is seeking an experienced Highways Clerk of Works to support the successful delivery of a wide-ranging Capital Projects programme across the borough.
This is a site-based role focused on the inspection, supervision, and delivery of highways, traffic management, public realm, and active travel infrastructure schemes, including cycle projects delivered in partnership with Transport for London.
We are specifically seeking candidates with strong experience in highways and streetworks project delivery within a local authority or highways environment. Candidates from building, housing, or vertical construction backgrounds without highways experience will not be considered.
The role working within the Capital Projects team and reporting to the Lead Engineer – Project Delivery, you will oversee and monitor live construction activities across highways and traffic schemes to ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly, and to specification.
You will act as the Council’s on-site representative, ensuring contractors, subcontractors, and external stakeholders comply with all contractual, legislative, safety, and quality requirements.

- Highway and carriageway works
