The Job: Do you enjoy working outdoors and transforming green spaces into well-kept, welcoming environments? We are recruiting an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative on behalf of our client, helping to keep estates clean, attractive, and thriving all year round. This is a hands-on, highly visible role where the impact of your work is appreciated every day. You will be part of a supportive team and will be given the tools and training you need to succeed.
What You will Do
- Carry out scheduled grounds maintenance across multiple estates
- Plant and maintain seasonal flower beds, hedges, shrubs, and turf
- Weed, spray, and perform seasonal leaf clearance
- Operate and maintain a range of manual and powered gardening tools
- Apply and store chemicals safely in accordance with regulations
- Remove and dispose of green waste responsibly
- Assist with landscaping projects and ongoing improvements
- Respond to urgent issues such as vandalism, hazards, or defects
- Follow all health & safety procedures and wear PPE as required
What You will Need
- Full UK driving licence (you will be using company vehicles)
- Experience in gardening or grounds maintenance
- Ability to safely operate horticultural machinery and tools
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Basic understanding of health & safety regulations
- PA1 & PA6 pesticide certificates - desirable, not essential
- A satisfactory Basic DBS check
This is a physically active, outdoor role. You must be comfortable working in all weather conditions and confident using powered tools and machinery. A full UK driving license and a Basic DBS check are essential.
