GP Receptionist needed in Barnsley

We are currently seeking an experienced GP Receptionist to support a busy and friendly GP practice, on a locum basis until the end of March.

8:00am – 6:30pm (30-minute break) – some flexibility available

Key Responsibilities

  • Front desk reception duties
  • Booking and managing appointments
  • Handling patient enquiries (face-to-face and telephone)
  • Processing prescriptions and administrative tasks
  • Supporting clinicians and practice team as required

Requirements

  • Previous GP reception experience (essential)
  • EMIS system experience (essential)
  • Valid NHS Smartcard (essential)
  • Confident managing a busy workload
  • Professional, friendly and patient-focused approach
