We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Housing Client in Islington for a Fire Risk Officer to join the Assets team on a hybrid basis, with 3 days per week in the office. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring buildings remain compliant and safe for residents, with a primary focus on managing two passive fire remedial contractors.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the completion of Fire Risk Assessment actions through to completion within agreed timeframes.
- Lead regular, structured contract review meetings, scrutinising KPIs, addressing health & safety matters and holding contractors to account.
- Manage and oversee passive fire remedial contractors to ensure delivery of compliant works.
- Provide clear guidance to operational colleagues, contractors, stakeholders and residents on fire safety actions and queries.
- Financial management duties including raising purchase orders, receipting and ensuring timely and accurate contractor payments.
- Ensure services deliver value for money while meeting budget expectations and organisational objectives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in contract management, stakeholder engagement, project coordination or a similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of fire risk management and relevant statutory and regulatory fire safety requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
- Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Office and related systems.
- Ability to manage contractors effectively and build strong professional working relationships.
