Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Bristol for a Finance Manager to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will join a high-performing and knowledgeable team, providing additional capacity and expertise across SEND reform, High Needs monitoring, and deficit management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support financial modelling linked to the Local SEND Reform Plan, including implementation of new funding arrangements and monitoring processes.
- Improve oversight and reporting of High Needs expenditure, including Alternative Learning Provision, Education Other Than At School (EOTAS), and Elective Home Education spend.
- Develop and strengthen policies and processes relating to budget deficits across schools, early years providers, and further education establishments.
- Provide clear recommendations and financial insight to senior stakeholders while working independently to deliver key project outcomes.

- Proven experience in schools funding within a local authority environment.
- Demonstrable track record of resolving complex funding and High Needs finance challenges.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience advising senior leaders on sensitive and complex issues.
