Service Care Solutions is working in partnership with a local authority, based in Leicestershire, which is looking to recruit an experienced Prosecutions Solicitor to join their established legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with a strong background in criminal prosecutions who is looking for a varied public sector role with a supportive and flexible working environment.
Role: Prosecutions Solicitor - Local Authority.
Location: Leicester - hybrid.
Contract Length: 3 months ongoing.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake a predominantly prosecution-focused caseload, including advocacy and case preparation in the Magistrates' Court and Crown Court.
- Manage a varied caseload of criminal prosecutions on behalf of the local authority.
- Involvement in Tribunal and County Court matters, and work across other legal areas as required by the service.
Key Requirements:
- 3+ years of PQE in criminal prosecutions law as a solicitor in England and Wales (must have a current practicing certificate).
- Confident advocate with experience in Magistrates' and/or Crown Court.
- Public sector or local authority experience is desirable but not essential.
