Divisional Business Manager β Education

We're recruiting for a commercially minded, highly organised Divisional Business Manager to join a national education provider, reporting directly to the Divisional Director and working closely with Regional Directors, Headteachers, Principals, Business Managers, and central support teams.
This is a pivotal leadership role providing strategic, operational, and financial support across a portfolio of specialist education services β including line management responsibility for a team of Business Managers, and regular travel to sites.
Strategic & Operational Support
Partner with the Divisional Director on strategic planning and operational performance
Monitor occupancy, admissions, and fee income against budget
Deliver financial and operational insight to support decision-making
Identify business trends, risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement
Financial & Performance Analysis
Analyse budgets, financial performance, and KPIs
Support Headteachers, Principals, and Business Managers through monthly finance reviews
Produce accurate management reports and performance data
Work with Finance, Business Development, and operational teams on timely reporting
Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and performance monitoring
Stakeholder Management
Build strong relationships with senior leaders across the division
Support effective communication across multiple sites
Collaborate with operational and central teams to ensure consistent delivery
Project & Change Management
Coordinate divisional projects and strategic initiatives
Monitor project milestones, timelines, and outcomes
Support implementation of operational improvements and best practice
Contribute to developing systems and processes that improve efficiency
Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Business Managers
Set objectives and support professional development
Take operational responsibility for the organisation's online education provision
Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
What we're looking for:
β Bachelor's degree or Level 3 qualification in Business Administration or related discipline
β Experience analysing complex business and financial data
β Strong understanding of budgets, financial reporting, and P&L accounts
β Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, reporting, data analysis)
β Excellent organisational and time management skills
β Strong written and verbal communication skills
β Ability to influence and build relationships with senior stakeholders
β High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
Desirable
β Experience within the education sector
β Experience supporting multi-site operations
β Previous people management or leadership experience
