A local authority in the East Midlands is seeking an experienced Education Capital & Place Planning Officer to support the delivery of its statutory duty to ensure sufficient education provision across the area.

You will play a key role in analysing demand, planning school places, and supporting the commissioning of new education provision in collaboration with partner organisations and statutory bodies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, forecast, and review demand for education places across the local area
  • Support the commissioning and delivery of new school places and education provision
  • Work with internal teams and external statutory partners on education planning initiatives
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of policies and procedures relating to 0–25 education planning
  • Support processes linked to school conversions to academy status
  • Assist in ensuring sufficient school capacity through capital planning and project delivery
About You
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 4, HNC or relevant experience)
  • Experience in education planning, capital programmes, school place planning, or local authority education services
  • Strong understanding of statutory education duties and commissioning processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Analytical approach with strong planning and organisational skills
Additional Information
  • Hybrid working arrangement (office presence in the North Northamptonshire area required as needed)
  • Short-term interim assignment (12 weeks)
  • Competitive daily rate with both umbrella and PAYE options available
