Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Asbestos Officer to join a Housing client in South Yorkshire on a temporary ongoing basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an asbestos compliance professional with experience managing asbestos safety within domestic housing portfolios, ensuring statutory compliance and supporting wider building safety functions.
Overview of the role
The successful candidate will support the delivery of asbestos compliance activities across a large residential portfolio. You will coordinate asbestos surveys, re-inspections, removals and remediation works whilst ensuring compliance with current legislation, HSE guidance and internal asbestos management procedures. The role will involve close liaison with contractors, tenants and internal teams including repairs, planned works and asset management.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate asbestos surveys, re-inspections and removal programmes
- Support delivery of the asbestos management plan and compliance procedures
- Maintain accurate asbestos registers and compliance records
- Manage contractors delivering asbestos related works and services
- Audit and monitor asbestos works to ensure compliance with regulations and HSE guidance
- Support investigations relating to asbestos incidents
- Provide technical advice and guidance regarding asbestos compliance
- Raise follow-on repair works where required
- Liaise with tenants and provide professional reassurance and communication
- Assist with compliance reporting and performance information
Requirements
- Experience managing asbestos compliance within housing, public sector or domestic properties
- Strong knowledge of Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
- P402 qualification essential
- P403/P404/P405 desirable
- Experience managing asbestos contractors and compliance programmes
- Ability to manage asbestos data and compliance systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
