About the Role
We are working with a well-established organisation to recruit a Communications Assistant to join their busy Communications team on a part‑time fixed‑term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a creative eye and hands‑on experience in digital content, social media, and website management. This role will suit someone who enjoys creating engaging content across multiple channels and is confident working in a fast‑paced environment where no two days are the same.
Responsibilities
- Create engaging content for digital channels including social media, videos, graphics and infographics
- Film and edit short‑form video content for social media using iPhone / mobile editing tools
- Update and maintain website content using WordPress
- Support internal communications including intranet updates, announcements and staff communications
- Design posters, leaflets and branded communications using Canva
- Manage and schedule social media content across business channels
- Ensure content is accessible, on‑brand and aligned with plain English guidelines
- Support communications campaigns and promotional activity across a range of topics
Requirements
- Previous experience in a communications, marketing or digital content role
- Strong experience using WordPress for website content updates
- Confident creating digital and print content using Canva
- Experience filming and editing short videos for social media
- Knowledge of using social media as a business communications tool (Facebook, Instagram etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to manage a varied workload and work on your own initiative
