Contract: 3-month rolling contract (with potential extension)

Hours: Full-time

Specialism: 0–11 years & Preparing for Adulthood (PFA)

Day Rate: £307.64 umbrella per day (£235 PAYE exclusive)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced EHC Coordinator (EHCCo) to support statutory SEND services within a Local Authority setting. You will be responsible for coordinating the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process for children and young people aged 0–25, ensuring compliance with the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice. This is a fully remote opportunity, ideal for candidates who are confident managing complex caseloads independently while maintaining high standards of statutory compliance and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the full EHCP lifecycle
  • Deliver statutory assessments within the 20-week timeframe
  • Complete and review annual reviews in line with deadlines
  • Prepare tribunal documentation and represent the Local Authority where required
  • Manage a high-volume caseload (250+ cases)
  • Produce clear, lawful, and outcome-focused EHCPs
  • Act as the main point of contact for families, schools, and professionals
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
  • Escalate complex or high-risk cases appropriately

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in a similar EHCCo role within a Local Authority (longer preferred to evidence full cycle experience)
  • Proven experience managing large caseloads (250+)
  • Strong working knowledge of SEND legislation and the Code of Practice
  • Experience with tribunal processes and preparing tribunal packs
  • 20-week statutory assessments
  • Annual reviews
  • Ability to confidently discuss previous caseloads and casework experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
