Contract: Temporary – 3 Months Initially (With Likely Extension)

Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00AM – 5:00PM

Pay Rate: £21 P/H Ltd Umbrella (£18.85 PAYE Inclusive/£16.82 PAYE Exclusive)

The Opportunity: Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a respected and well-established charity organisation delivering specialist substance misuse recovery and employment support services across the community. The organisation is committed to helping individuals rebuild confidence, independence and long-term recovery through meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate IPS Employment Specialist to support individuals in recovery from drug and alcohol misuse into paid employment, education and vocational opportunities. Working within an Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model, you will provide tailored employment support while working collaboratively with treatment teams, employers and community partners. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about recovery, social inclusion and empowering vulnerable individuals to achieve positive life outcomes through employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a caseload of individuals engaged in substance misuse recovery services who wish to access employment
  • Delivering tailored one-to-one employment support using the IPS model
  • Completing vocational profiles, action plans and employment-focused assessments
  • Supporting service users with CV writing, interview preparation, applications and job searching
  • Providing ongoing in-work support to help individuals sustain employment
  • Building strong relationships with local employers to identify suitable job opportunities
  • Promoting employment as a key part of recovery and social inclusion
  • Working collaboratively with recovery practitioners, clinicians and external agencies
  • Supporting individuals with benefit advice, workplace adjustments and confidence-building
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records using case management systems

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working within employment support, substance misuse, mental health or social care services
  • Experience supporting vulnerable or socially excluded individuals on a one-to-one basis
  • Strong understanding of recovery-focused and person-centred approaches
  • Excellent communication, motivation and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to engage with employers and community stakeholders confidently
  • Experience managing caseloads and achieving outcome-focused targets
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Understanding of safeguarding, GDPR and professional boundaries
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, Advice & Guidance, Employment Services or equivalent desirable
  • Enhanced Adults DBS (within 12 months or registered on Update Service)
  • Valid Right to Work documentation
  • Satisfactory employment references
