Locum Supervising Social Worker – Fostering (Children's Services) £35.00 per hour Wigan Council Contract: Locum | Full-time
I am looking for experienced Supervising Social Worker to join the Fostering Team at Wigan Council on a locum basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional with a strong background in fostering and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Hold a caseload of foster carers and provide regular supervision and support
- Undertake annual foster carer reviews
- Attend and contribute to all associated meetings including LAC reviews, strategy meetings, and placement planning meetings
- Complete relevant training and CPD
- Participate in fostering panel as required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
- Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England
- Significant post-qualifying experience in fostering services (experience essential)
- Strong understanding of fostering regulations, safeguarding, and statutory frameworks
- Ability to manage a complex caseload and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Thursdays are designated office days for all staff
- Duty days are also office-based
- Hybrid working pattern available outside of these designated days
- Supportive team environment with structured supervision
