We are now looking for Children’s Contact Workers to join our team and support children and young people in care during supervised family time. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to safeguarding and positive outcomes for children across Birmingham.
About the Role As a Children’s Contact Worker, you will:
Safely transport children and young people from their placement to contact venues and return them afterwards.
Supervise contact sessions between children and their parents, carers, or others as set out in care plans.
Provide clear written reports on contact sessions using agreed templates.
Recognise and report safeguarding concerns to senior staff and allocated social workers.
Maintain contact rooms to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
Use IT systems as required and participate in ongoing training.
Work flexibly, including outside of core hours, to meet service needs.About You We are looking for individuals with:
Substantial experience of working directly with children under 10 (paid, voluntary, or personal).
The ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, foster carers, and professionals.
Strong written skills to produce accurate reports.
An understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
The ability to work independently and flexibly, covering contacts across Birmingham.
A full driving licence and sole use of a car for work purposes.A childcare qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
