Location: Solihull B37 – Hybrid

Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Hours: Full time (37 hours per week)

About the Role:

We are working with a well-established organisation to recruit a Data Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for a data-driven professional who enjoys turning complex data into meaningful insight that supports business performance, decision-making and service improvement.

This role will suit someone with strong analytical capability, advanced Excel skills, and experience working with BI tools to build reports, dashboards and performance insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. With an immediate requirement, this role is ideally suited to candidates who can start quickly.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver regular and ad-hoc management information, reporting and analysis
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting needs and business objectives
  • Extract, clean, model and analyse data from multiple systems
  • Produce dashboards, reports and visualisations to communicate trends, performance and insight
  • Support the development and maintenance of performance reporting frameworks
  • Carry out benchmarking, comparative analysis and trend reporting to support service improvement
  • Ensure data quality, validation and integrity across reporting outputs
  • Support automation and streamlining of reporting and data collection processes
  • Assist in maintaining data structures and information systems to support business intelligence activity
  • Present findings clearly to a range of technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Data Analyst / BI Analyst / Reporting Analyst role
  • Strong analytical skills with experience applying data insight in a business setting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience using BI tools for reporting, dashboards and data visualisation
  • Able to extract, clean, model and interpret data from business systems
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data quality and accuracy
  • Confident communicating complex information in a clear and user-friendly way
  • Able to manage changing priorities and build effective stakeholder relationships

Desirable:

  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with Power BI (Power Query, DAX, data modelling, dashboard development)
  • Knowledge of housing management systems such as Open Housing
  • Public sector or housing sector experience
  • Understanding of data protection / information governance
