Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home in Cannock, WS7 - 5-Bed EBD Residential Home.

Are you an experienced leader within Children’s Residential Care looking for an opportunity to truly make an impact? We are seeking a passionate, driven, and child-focused Registered Manager to lead a 5-bed residential home in Cannock, supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs to achieve stability, growth, and positive outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced Registered Manager seeking a fresh challenge, or a strong Deputy Manager ready to step into registration and lead a home with the full support of an established senior leadership team.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the leadership, development, and day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance are consistently delivered. You will create a nurturing, structured, and therapeutic environment where children feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. You will also play a key role in developing a positive culture for staff, promoting teamwork, accountability, and exceptional care practice.

This role requires a strong understanding of children’s residential legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and Ofsted regulations, alongside the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall management of the residential home in line with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
  • Deliver and maintain outstanding standards of care and safeguarding
  • Lead, motivate, supervise, and develop the staff team
  • Ensure robust care planning and risk management processes are in place
  • Promote positive outcomes for children and young people across education, health, emotional wellbeing, and independence
  • Manage staffing structures, rotas, recruitment, and performance management
  • Ensure the home operates within budget and organisational expectations
  • Build strong working relationships with local authorities, professionals, and external agencies
  • Drive continuous improvement within the service
  • Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections
  • Ensure all policies, procedures, and compliance standards are consistently maintained

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people and who can lead from the front with confidence, resilience, and compassion.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience within Children’s Residential Care
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within a children’s home
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted regulations
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (minimum)
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards if applicable)
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage challenging situations positively and effectively
  • Full UK driving licence
