Service Care Solutions are currently working alongside a local authority, based in Greater Manchester, which is seeking an experienced Planning and Highway Solicitor to join their team on a part time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to progress in your career and gain experience in the legal industry. This role pays a competitive rate of: Umbrella Rate - 50-55 an hour; PAYE (Inc.Hol) - an hour. This role is on a contract basis for 3 months but has potential to extend.
Responsibilities
- To provide high quality and timely technical and professional advice on land and property matters to the Council, its officers and elected members.
- Able to handle high caseload in Planning and Highway from start to completion.
- Deliver training and contribute to continuous legal service improvement.
- Represent the Council in appeals, judicial reviews and statutory challenges.
- Must attend evening planning control committee meetings.
About you
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Qualified Solicitor with at least 3 years PQE in Planning and Highway Law.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
