A client within the Public Sector based in Worcestershire is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their Disrepair team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.
The role
Key purpose of the role is to deliver high-quality services in line with statutory and operational requirements, supporting the team with day-to-day responsibilities and contributing to the efficient running of the service.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Conducting inspections, assessments, or other service-related tasks in line with regulations and best practice
- Preparing reports, maintaining accurate records, and updating relevant systems
- Collaborating with colleagues, stakeholders, and service users to deliver service objectives
- Managing and delivering housing maintenance and capital works
- Conducting inspections (void and tenanted), preparing schedules of work, and supervising contractors
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in building/surveying environments
- Understanding of housing maintenance, building construction, contracts, and property compliance
- Experience preparing specifications, schedules of work, and managing contractor performance
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
- Relevant certifications in H&S, asbestos, CDM
- Good IT literacy, particularly with housing management systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £35 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £27 per hour PAYE).
