We are currently recruiting for a Projects Surveyor to join a leading Housing Association's Major Fire Projects Team, supporting the delivery of critical building safety and fire compliance programmes across a large residential property portfolio.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Surveyor or Project Manager with a background in fire safety, compliance, capital works or major projects to take ownership of projects from inception through to completion. You will play a key role in delivering fire safety improvements, managing contractors and consultants, monitoring budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly and to the highest standards.
Working within the Asset Management & Sustainability team, you will help drive major fire safety investment programmes whilst supporting funding applications and ensuring regulatory compliance across the organisation's housing stock.
Responsibilities
- Deliver major fire safety and building compliance projects from inception through to completion
- Manage project programmes, budgets, risks and contractor performance
- Prepare specifications, tender documentation and project reports
- Monitor project progress and ensure works are delivered on time and within budget
- Undertake site inspections and quality assurance reviews
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, residents and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with current building safety legislation, fire safety regulations and organisational standards
- Support resident engagement and consultation throughout project delivery
- Manage project documentation, change control processes and financial reporting
- Assist with government funding applications and associated reporting requirements
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project performance, risks and outcomes
Requirements
- Experience delivering construction, capital works, compliance or fire safety projects from inception to completion
- Strong building surveying and project management experience
- Experience managing contractors, consultants and external stakeholders
- Good understanding of building safety regulations, fire safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience monitoring project budgets and financial reporting
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Experience within housing, local authority, property or construction environments would be highly desirable
