Salary: £750 per day umbrella / £659.62 PAYE Inclusive / £588.58 PAYE Exclusive

Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Bristol for a Finance Manager to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will join a high-performing and knowledgeable team, providing additional capacity and expertise across SEND reform, High Needs monitoring, and deficit management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support financial modelling linked to the Local SEND Reform Plan, including implementation of new funding arrangements and monitoring processes.
  • Improve oversight and reporting of High Needs expenditure, including Alternative Learning Provision, Education Other Than At School (EOTAS), and Elective Home Education spend.
  • Develop and strengthen policies and processes relating to budget deficits across schools, early years providers, and further education establishments.
  • Provide clear recommendations and financial insight to senior stakeholders while working independently to deliver key project outcomes.

Candidate Criteria

  • Proven experience in schools funding within a local authority environment.
  • Demonstrable track record of resolving complex funding and High Needs finance challenges.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience advising senior leaders on sensitive and complex issues.
  • Ability to work autonomously, communicate clearly, and translate technical financial matters into practical recommendations.
