We are currently recruiting for an experienced Adult Bladder & Bowel Registered Nurse to join a specialist service in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled nurse with experience in continence care, bladder and bowel management, and specialist clinical assessments.

Location: Community Clinic Setting (Hertfordshire)

Contract Length: Locum, Full Time, 3-Month Contract (with possible extension)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:30 (1-hour unpaid lunch break)

Pay: £40 per hour (Umbrella), comparable to £35.14 per hour (PAYE inclusive of holiday pay)

Working Pattern: Face-to-Face Clinic Appointments (5 days per week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct new patient and follow-up clinic appointments.
  • Undertake comprehensive patient assessments and clinical examinations.
  • Complete detailed clinical documentation and patient records.
  • Produce clinic outcome letters for patients and GPs following assessments.
  • Request prescriptions through GP correspondence where required.
  • Collect, process, and send clinical samples as necessary.
  • Develop and implement appropriate bladder and bowel management plans.
  • Provide specialist advice, education, and support to patients and carers.
  • Work collaboratively with GPs and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

Essential Experience - Applicants must have demonstrable experience in:

  • Bladder scanning
  • Urinary catheterisation and catheter management
  • Trial Without Catheter (TWOC)
  • Bowel management
  • Rectal examinations
  • Management of faecal incontinence
  • Prostate assessment and related care
  • Adult continence services

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (NMC Registered)
  • Experience working within bladder and bowel or continence services
  • Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills
  • Strong communication and patient-centred care approach
  • Ability to work independently within a clinic environment

Working Hours: Monday to Friday Start Time: 08:30 Finish Time: 17:30 1-hour unpaid lunch break Shorter lunch break and earlier finish time may be considered
