Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of one of our local authority clients for an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join a Complex / Advanced Practice Team in Blackpool. This role is suited to practitioners with strong experience in complex case management, risk analysis, and statutory children’s social care.
The Complex Team works with children and families where risks are high and interventions require advanced assessment, planning, and multi-agency coordination. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive authority that values reflective practice, thorough supervision, and high quality social work.
Key Responsibilities- Managing complex child protection and child in need cases involving high levels of risk
- Completing detailed assessments under Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act
- Undertaking safeguarding investigations and contributing to robust child protection planning
- Working with families where there are issues such as chronic neglect, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health concerns
- Preparing high quality, evidence based reports for child protection conferences, care proceedings, legal planning meetings, and court
- Undertaking direct work with children and young people to ensure their voice is central to decision making
- Working collaboratively with partner agencies including health, education, police, legal services, and early help teams
- Maintaining accurate, up to date case recordings in line with statutory guidance and local authority standards
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant recent experience working within Children’s Social Care, particularly in child protection or complex frontline teams
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make clear, defensible decisions
- Sound knowledge of children’s legislation, guidance, and safeguarding procedures
- Ability to manage complex workloads and work effectively under pressure
- Competitive pay rate of £39.00 per hour umbrella £34.48 per hour PAYE (inclusive) option available
