Service Care Solutions is working alongside a highly regarded law firm, based in the Birmingham area, which is seeking a qualified and experienced Criminal Duty Solicitor to manage a varied caseload of criminal matters, including police station attendances, Magistrates’ Court advocacy, and general criminal defence work.
Role: Criminal Duty Solicitor
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000
Location: Birmingham
Key Responsibilities of the Duty Solicitor role:
- Represent clients at police stations, Magistrates’ Courts and, where appropriate, Crown Courts.
- Provide accurate and timely legal advice and advocacy to clients.
- Contribute to the growth of the department through your own client following or business development, if applicable.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of PQE in Criminal law as a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
- Current accreditation as a Duty Solicitor (LAA Crime Category 1 Supervisor status desirable but not essential).
- Willingness to work out-of-hours duty slots on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends.
