Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Best Interests Assessor (BIA) to join a well-established Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Team within Adult Social Care in Trafford. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a borough-wide service that plays a vital role in ensuring individuals' legal rights are upheld under the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and DoLS legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake Best Interest Assessments for DoLS applications within statutory timescales
- Complete high-quality, evidence-based reports to support decision-making
- Determine whether arrangements constitute a deprivation of liberty and if this is in the individual's best interests
- Maintain effective communication with service users, families, and carers
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals and care providers
- Contribute to screening applications, auditing, and quality assurance processes
- Undertake Part 8 reviews and support Court of Protection processes where required
- Support the development of the service and provide guidance to managing authorities
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker, Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Psychologist
- BIA qualification (valid and in date)
- Registered with the relevant professional body (e.g., Social Work England)
