Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an Adult Social Worker to join Devon County Council on a temporary ongoing contract.
Location: Devon
Contract: 3-month ongoing contract with a view to extension
Pay Rate: £35.00 per hour Umbrella (£27.48 PAYE Exclusive)
Hours: Full-time
About the Role
You will work within Adult Social Care services, supporting adults using a strengths-based and person-centred approach to maximise independence, wellbeing, and choice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Completing complex Care Act assessments and reviews.
- Undertaking risk assessments and care planning.
- Contributing to Continuing Healthcare (CHC) processes.
- Applying the Mental Capacity Act, including capacity assessments and Best Interest decisions.
- Identifying enablement and reablement opportunities.
- Leading safeguarding enquiries, including complex safeguarding investigations.
- Working closely with health professionals, voluntary organisations, and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Undertaking Court of Protection work, including Deprivation of Liberty applications within the community where required.
- Maintaining accurate and timely case records.
- Supporting service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Social Work England registration.
- Experience within Adult Social Care.
- Strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, and safeguarding legislation.
- Experience completing assessments, reviews, safeguarding enquiries, and support planning.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently.
- Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
This role would be particularly suited to Social Workers with experience in Adult Community Teams, Safeguarding Teams, Locality Teams, Physical Disabilities, Older Persons, or Learning Disabilities services.
