Job Description Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Band 6 Senior Mental Health Nurse to work within the Prison Healthcare Service in Bicester. Hours: Monday to Friday Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm Pay: £27 per hour (Limited Company rate) Location: Bicester, Oxfordshire Please note: This role does not offer sponsorship Service Information This is a Category B prison housing adult males. The Mental Health Team operates within the prison healthcare unit, providing primary and secondary mental health care to a diverse and complex patient group. As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to service users experiencing a wide range of mental health needs. You will provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior staff and contribute to the effective delivery of care pathways within the prison environment. Person Specification The successful candidate must have: Valid NMC Registration (RMN or RNLD) Demonstrable post-registration experience in mental health nursing (Band 6 or equivalent) Experience in forensic, custodial, or prison healthcare environments preferred Strong clinical assessment and risk management skills Knowledge of the Care Programme Approach (CPA) and Mental Health Act Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Confidence working independently and leading a team Awareness of safeguarding, confidentiality, and security procedures Up-to-date PMVA or equivalent restraint training Basic Life Support and mandatory training completed within the last 12 months Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., GP, psychiatry, probation, substance misuse services) Must have prison security clearanceBenefits of Service Care Solutions £250 Referral Bonus – Paid after 150 hours for every newly registered candidate you refer £150 Job Referral Bonus – Receive £150 if you bring your own position to us FREE Registration Process – Including Enhanced DBS, Occupational Health, Uniform, and Mandatory/Practical Training Dedicated, Specialist Consultant – One-to-one service throughout your placement £250 CPD/Training Allowance – Annually toward professional development or NMC registration fees
