Agency Band 6 CAMHS Learning Disability Nurse Location: Springfield Hospital, South West London, St. George’s NHS Trust Working Hours: 4 days per week Pay Rate: £31 per hour Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Band 6 CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) Learning Disability Nurse to join our team at Springfield Hospital, part of the South West London and St. George’s NHS Trust. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people with learning disabilities and complex mental health needs. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to children and adolescents with learning disabilities and associated mental health conditions. Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions tailored to the individual needs of service users. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers. Engage with families and caregivers, offering support, education, and advice to promote holistic care. Monitor and evaluate treatment outcomes, ensuring that all interventions comply with clinical guidelines and best practices. Act as a key worker, coordinating care across services and advocating for the needs of service users. Support and mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive learning environment. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in line with trust policies.Requirements Professional Qualification: Registered Nurse (RNLD, RMN, or RSCN) with valid NMC registration. Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in CAMHS and/or learning disability nursing, preferably in a similar Band 6 role. Skills: Excellent clinical assessment and care planning skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with young people, families, and professionals. Ability to manage complex cases and work effectively under pressure. Familiarity with relevant legislation and safeguarding protocols.
